A 19-year-old is facing several charges after an incident at a tow yard in Boston’s Charlestown neighborhood injured two employees Thursday night.
State police say they responded alongside Boston and Medford officers to the tow yard and learned that a suspect who they had arrested earlier in the day for operating with a suspended license had attempted to retrieve his vehicle.
When the tow company refused to release the suspect’s car, he allegedly attempted to drive the vehicle off the lot, striking and injuring two employees in their 50s before fleeing the scene, police say.
Medford police found the unoccupied vehicle a short time later, and then troopers subsequently located the suspect, taking him into custody. Police have identified him as Diogo Silva, of Medford.
Silva is expected to be arraigned Friday in Somerville District Court on charges including assault and battery with a deadly weapon causing serious injury, police said. Attorney information wasn’t immediately available.
