Ellen DeGeneres did not hesitate to express her gratitude to Diane Keaton, who had died earlier this year, a big thank you very much indeed. She published a video of the pair having a conversation with the main point being the post that Diane was the best and Ellen was lucky enough to be with her. Along with the original video, Ellen posted a very brief but lovely caption, “I’m so thankful for the time I got to spend with Diane Keaton.”

The post full of emotions that the comedian shared attracted a great many people who were willing to show their affection and support for the deceased actress. The video is nothing but pure Keaton chaos in the most delightful manner. It brings back one of those enchanted moments when the actress just runs with a bit, and Ellen is more than happy to ride along with her.
The famous actress taking about her film kisses is where the whole discussion gets really wild. Keaton acknowledges that this is her “last opportunity” to elaborate on her intimate film relations, maintaining that she should be awarded a Guinness World Record for “Kissing Men on film.” “You know, that’s the best way to kiss because they have to go through the story and fall in love with you,” Keaton is that eccentric presenting in her customary pitch voice. “I’m not joking, it’s the best. I’m serious.”
Then she proceeds to mention her magnificent co-stars and almost simultaneously make three previous men, one after the other, less than a moment’s. Gere. Shepard. Beatty. Then she comes to Gibson, whom she labels “breathtaking” and recalls a snow scene with a gun where “he kissed me.” The recollection seems to shatter her for a brief moment before she swiftly moves on to Walter Matthau, Jack Nicholson, and finally Harrison Ford.
“Harrison Ford, but not quite,” Keaton makes it clear. “He didn’t really kiss me. He only patted my behind. So that’s not kissing.” When Ellen implies it’s not so far away, Keaton retorts, clarifying, “No, it’s not. Not even? No, have you been watching football? It’s really nothing like kissing at all.”
People loved this exchange on Keaton’s visits – surprising, very funny, and absolutely genuine.
However, Ellen’s post has received a very emotional reaction. Many comments are showing how much people miss the bright presence of the actress who just died. One of the users commented, “She was so funny and so full of life. You always wanted more,” which was just the case when anyone was watching a Keaton interview.
Another one remarked, “She was pure love and joy,” and yet another pointed out that “The two of you together was pure magic,” all of which corroborates to the special chemistry between DeGeneres and her frequent guest.
The comments are very expressive on the theme of loss. “It is very sad to have lost her,” one user admitted, while another simply put it as “Rest in peace, Diane. She is greatly missed.”
Quite a number of users pointed out that Keaton’s legacy would forever be remembered. “Such a gem, gone way too soon,” one of the comments read. “Thank God, she left us an unforgettable legacy.”
The video clip that made people want more was the reason for several users to request the posting of full interviews. “I could series videos of you and her all day long,” one user commented, and another user asked, “Can you please post the full clip of her having a giggle attack about tantric sex?”
Even the humorous part of Keaton’s getting surfaced as one of the co-stars reactions among many. One user wrote especially in agreement with Keaton’s evaluation of the Harrison Ford situation, “Touching ass… is almost kissing, I agree; Being anywhere around Mel Gibson is winning.”
Diane Keaton passed away in January at the age of 78 after a private battle with health problems. The Oscar-winning actress who appeared in such films as “Annie Hall,” “The Godfather,” and “Something’s Gotta Give” continued to be a part of Hollywood’s active scene not long ago, always bringing along her unique viewpoint and style that made her so loved.
Ellen DeGeneres’ retirement from her long-running talk show in 2022 made the throwback moments even more heart-wrenching. They not only reminded the audience of the strong bonds that were developed during the 19 seasons but also of the extraordinary magic that two comedy legends sharing a stage could create.
