Even after its return, the show continued going through rough times, as an episode of the program was abruptly pulled in early November.
An email allegedly from Kimmel’s audience team apologized for the situation but didn’t provide any info on what went wrong at the time.
“Tonight’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live has been postponed. Apologies for any inconvenience,” it allegedly stated. “We [sic] will contact you to reschedule for a future taping. Thanks.”
Soon after, it was revealed Jimmy Kimmel Live band leader Cleto Escobedo III had passed away.
“Early this morning, we lost a great friend, father, son, musician, and man, my longtime bandleader Cleto Escobedo III,” Kimmel mourned.
“To say that we are heartbroken is an understatement. Cleto and I have been inseparable since I was nine years old. The fact that we got to work together every day is a dream neither of us could ever have imagined would come true. Cherish your friends, and please keep Cleto’s wife, children, and parents in your prayers.”
