‘Tis the season… for Christmas commercials to begin and for re-watching Love Actually.
This year, British supermarket chain Waitrose combined them both with Keira Knightley starring in its ad parodying the iconic front door scene from her 2003 movie.
The mini-movie, which is almost four minutes long, shows Knightley as a version of herself.

The rom-com kicks off with a bereaved man named Phil (played by English comedian and actor Joe Wilkinson) in a pub with his friends.
“Shelly said the only woman I could move on with was Keira Knightley,” he says.
They laugh and tell him he’ll be single forever but much to all of their shock, Phil bumps into the actress inside the supermarket as they both stop to purchase the same cheese.
A montage shows the couple falling in love before Phil notices a gift from a man named Mark and is heartbroken.
After some convincing from his mum, he tries to cook for Knightley as a romantic gesture, making his nan’s turkey pie with a message on best.

Phil arrives at her home and unveils an “I love you” message atop the baked good, in a scene parodying a similar declaration of love on cue cards at her front door in Love Actually.
Mark, who turns out to be Knightley’s on-screen brother, also shows up at the door and all is forgiven with a happy Christmas for all.
There are some differences between Knightley’s persona in the ad and real life – namely that she’s actually married to musician James Righton and they have two daughters.
Knightley also has a brother in real life but he’s named Caleb and does not appear in the commercial.

It’s more than 20 years since the star-studded and beloved Christmas movie was released and Knightley is thrilled it’s become such a tradition for millions – even if she’s only seen it once for herself.
“I mean, Love Actually, is a part of other people’s Christmases – it’s absolutely amazing,” Knightley previously told nine.com.au on the red carpet at the Black Doves premiere.
“It’s just this film that sort of grown into this whole… it’s got a whole life of its own, it’s totally lovely.”
