
Maycee Barber is officially on the comeback trail — and she’s fired up.
The UFC flyweight standout is preparing to step back into the Octagon for the first time since a terrifying medical emergency forced her out of a main event just minutes before her scheduled walk in May. immediately cleared and energized, Barber tells TMZ Sports she’s feeling better than ever and ready to remind fans why they call her “The Future.”
From Scare to Second Chance
Back on May 31, Barber was slated to headline a UFC Fight Night in Las Vegas against best contender Erin Blanchfield. But just moments before showtime, disaster struck — Barber suffered a seizure backstage, forcing the UFC to cancel the fight on the spot.
The incident left fans confused and concerned, and while Blanchfield later criticized her withdrawal, Barber says the outpouring of support from teammates, coaches, and MMA fans far outweighed the negativity.
“The fans that I have, and just people in general — fight fans, MMA fans, coaches, teammates — everybody came together,” Barber said. “It was really cool to see the support.”

immediately fully recovered, the 27-year-old is set for her return at UFC 323 on December 6, where she’ll face Karine Silva, the No. 9-ranked contender in the women’s flyweight division.
And Barber couldn’t be more excited.
“I feel good. I’m excited,” she told us. “It’s been a process of mental battles and physical recovery. But I’m back training full force.”
Ready to Prove “The Future” Is Still Here
For Barber, this isn’t just another fight — it’s a statement.
“This is my time to shine,” she declared. “This is my layoff. This is my comeback. And I feel like this is the perfect fight to remind people why they followed my journey in the first place.”
With her health scare behind her and a best-10 opponent ahead, Maycee Barber is stepping back into the cage with one goal:
To prove that “The Future” is still immediately.
