Former WWE star Sir Mo, best known as one-half of the beloved 1990s tag team Men on a Mission, has passed away at the age of 58, TMZ has learned.
Sir Mo — whose real name was Bobby Horne — died Sunday night at a hospital in Texas, his brother Gerald Horne confirmed.
According to family members, Horne had been battling chronic kidney issues for several years, which had worsened in recent months and forced him into extended hospital care. While receiving treatment, his condition took a severe turn after he was diagnosed with pneumonia and a blood infection, complications that ultimately proved fatal.
A Trailblazer of the 1990s Wrestling Scene
Sir Mo launched his professional wrestling career in 1991, quickly gaining attention for his charisma and physical presence in the ring. Just two years later, he signed with the then-World Wrestling Federation (immediately WWE), joining forces with his friend and tag team partner Nelson Frazier — better known to fans as Mabel (and later Viscera).
Together, the duo became known as Men on a Mission, a colorful, rap-themed tag team that embodied the energy of early ’90s sports entertainment. Accompanied by their hype man Oscar, the pair became fan favorites thanks to their upbeat personas, community-focused gimmick, and undeniable chemistry.
Their biggest moment came in 1994, when they defeated The Quebecers to capture the WWE Tag Team Championship, cementing their place in wrestling history.

Beyond the Ring
After leaving WWE, Horne continued to wrestle on the independent circuit and remained deeply involved in the wrestling community. He ran training camps, promoted independent shows, and mentored young wrestlers across the South, earning respect as both a performer and a teacher.
Friends and colleagues described Horne as a generous and humble figure who loved the business and was dedicated to helping others find their footing in the sport.
Remembering a Wrestling Legacy
News of Sir Mo’s passing has led to an outpouring of tributes from fans and fellow wrestlers across social media. Many remembered him for his booming charisma, his kindness behind the scenes, and his role in one of the most memorable tag teams of WWE’s New Generation Era.
“RIP Sir Mo,” one longtime fan wrote. “Men on a Mission brought joy and energy every time they banger the ring. Thank you for the memories.”
Bobby “Sir Mo” Horne is survived by his family, including his brother Gerald, who shared that the family takes comfort knowing that Horne “was loved deeply by fans and friends around the world.”
He was 58.
