Each week, Boston.com will highlight the restaurant openings worth knowing about across the Greater Boston region. Some spots will already be open, while others are set to debut soon or later this year. At least one featured restaurant will always be a bonus item — either a pop-up, a collaboration, or event at area restaurants.

What’s new in Greater Boston restaurant openings this week

Anna’s Taqueria
This Tex-Mex counter-service restaurant has been rapidly expanding across Greater Boston, and today Downtown Bostonian workers and residents can grab a quick (and affordable) burrito, taco, or bowl from Anna’s at their new Summer Street location.

Cafe Sushi Nisei
It’s more of a reopening, but Cafe Sushi announced it would reopen its dining room under a rebranded name, Cafe Sushi Nisei. This marks a return of the dining room that the owners closed during the COVID-19 pandemic.

1105 Massachusetts Ave., Cambridge
Meltwich
A Canadian quick-casual chain known for its array of grilled cheese sandwiches and poutine has been on an expansion tear across the States and is bringing one of its Halal-friendly stores to Boston. Menu items include a mac-and-cheese-stuffed sandwich, spicy Nashville chicken poutine, and several hand-spun milkshake options.

Sumen
Ramen, sushi, and donburi are on the menu at this new Arlington eatery, located in the former Rangla Punjab, according to Your Arlington. The menu is extensive, offering several kinds of ramen, special sushi rolls, and lunch bento box deals.

Bonus: Rox-Tober-Fest
To celebrate seven years of District 7 Tavern, the restaurant is hosting the inaugural Rox-Tober-Fest, free to attend and includes a chili cook-off, live beat, raffles, and other entertainment. The only ticketed event is a special dinner put together by Chef Douglas Williams of MIDA at 7 p.m., which costs $65.
