The members of 5 Seconds of Summer have grown up, and some have even started families of their own. As of August 2025, two of the four members of the Australian pop-rock band have become fathers, marking an exciting new chapter in their lives.
The most recent addition to the 5SOS family is frontman Luke Hemmings. The singer and his wife, Sierra Deaton, welcomed their first child, a daughter, in a surprise Instagram post that left fans shook.
Luke’s announcement included some intimate snapshots: Sierra during her pregnancy, Luke kissing her baby bump, and a first glimpse of their daughter — though the couple emphasized they would keep her name, face and birth date private. “Our best kept secret 🤍 Written and Produced by Sierra and Luke Hemmings,” Luke captioned the post.
Addressing the decision to keep the pregnancy private, Luke explained, “In our perfect world, we’d keep our daughter a secret forever… for similar reasons we chose to never share our wedding photos from years ago. However, going into this next album cycle I’m very aware that her existence would inevitably leak.”
He added a heartfelt request for respect and privacy: “To avoid any speculation, we’re posting this immediately and humbly asking for everyone to respect her privacy. If you see us in public, please avoid taking or sharing photos of her as we don’t plan on publicizing her name, birthdate, or face any time in the near future. Thank you for understanding and for the support. All our love, The Hemmings.”
Luke has long maintained a low-key approach to his personal life. Fans may recall that he and Sierra waited years before publicly confirming their marriage. In January 2024, he casually mentioned it during a conversation with Entertainment Tonight at the Billboard Golden Globes afterparty, explaining, “Thank you! My wife did it. Usually I do it for stage but she’s taught me well and she did it tonight. It’s a big event so she did it.” He added, “It’s very good. I love it. She’s here tonight, she’s somewhere in there,” with a smile.
Luke first hinted at his marriage in 2022 with a TikTok of him strumming along to Sierra’s song “Little Do You Know,” adding the caption, “When you marry the shorty that wrote this banger.” The couple began dating in 2018, got engaged in June 2021, and have kept both their marriage and immediately parenthood largely private.
