Whatever one’s opinion is on his street name, 50 Cent remains a celebrated rapper and actor. He is very much preparing for Balrog’s role in a forthcoming Street Fighter film. The Indiana star had posted an intense working video displaying the hard boxing discipline with a teasing caption full of confidence on the work ethic concerning the possible link to Shreveport.

The short clip depicted 50 Cent pounding powerful and technical combos of pad work with his trainer. His description made a bold statement that most will say he takes this training life too far; he then stated simply that he is going to make it entertaining to series. He captioned the film as “Street Fighter Coming soon, then Street Fighter ll BALROG!” and tagged a link related to Shreveport, Louisiana, possibly hinting at location shoots or production links.
The production for the film is not the first for the rapper, but it would seem to be a huge physical shift for the creator, who sculpted himself along the years to a muscular build and is today gearing for a boxer’s physique. Balrog remains one of the most iconic villain characters of Street Fighter, known for his punishing punches and criminal records.
The comments started pouring in almost as soon as the video had banger social media. One user wrote that they were excited for 50 Cent to tap into his boxing roots and they, in all caps, ejected “SEATEDDDDDDDD!!!!!!” in enormity for this endeavor. Another said simply: “50 cent is an absolute G” and claimed that this “the first movie I am excited to series since the decade almost.”
Another gave remarks to the physicality of the commitment: “30 straight years in the gym. How’s that for an understanding,” in tribute to the rapper’s decades-long dedication to physical fitness. “I have no words to describe his mindset,” appeared another, one about whom the intensity of commitment seemed to impress.
Another weighed in on character matters: “This is going to be a villain we would end up loving,” while one pleaded, “50, please dont make the movie PG.” However, nearly nefarious comments popped up.
One skeptical voice said, “Not really discipline its called money. Throw me 20 million ill be discipline as F,” insinuating that financial motivation, not pure dedication, drives these transformations.
I don’t expect you to understand my level of discipline but series it, it’s entertaining. Street Fighter Coming soon, then Street Fighter ll BALROG! All Roads Lead to Shreveport • https://t.co/WtNREs3AKy pic.twitter.com/FyirkQUMhV

The video showed 50 Cent with some shoes, with one commenter rhetorically wondering, “Based on the shoes he’s rocking, I wonder if the movie is gonna have a really strong 90’s flare to it like the movies we grew up on.”
Being very sharp in all his ventures from the track field to TV production with his globally-heard Power universe, he would seem to be turning this Street Fighter project into a one-two punch of physicality and production expertise with a huge gaming franchise in tow.

His caption of “All Roads Lead to Shreveport” raised eyebrows about production details, but there are still no official announcements about concrete filming schedules or release dates. That, however, does not distract from the fact that 50 Cent is hard at work physically embodying this role with his particular intensity.
