Halloween night brought more than just gusty winds to the Boston area — it brought out some seriously creative costumes. From eerie ensembles to locally inspired looks, here’s a roundup of the best outfits that captured the city’s spooky-season spirit.

Tricks and treats on the T

The MBTA shared a photo of staff who helped hand out candy on the T, including beloved Wizard of Oz characters, a pirate, and “Love on the Spectrum” star and MBTA superfan Pari Kim, who dressed as a “T princess.”

“To celebrate the holiday, MBTA staff members hopped aboard the T to hand out candy and stickers to our riders. Thank you for taking the T to all today’s spooktacular festivities.”

Mayor Michelle Wu also shared a photo of a few more MBTA fans who stopped by City Hall’s trick-or-treat event.

Spirited sports fans

The New England Patriots asked followers to “Drop your best Pats costumes,” which prompted some spooky yet sporty replies.

Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum stopped by Boston Children’s Hospital, where he encountered a scary surprise.

Cops and candy

Boston police reported a SpongeBob SquarePants sighting in Eastie and a future cadet out on trick-or-treat patrol.

speedy food fright

Only in Boston highlighted a creative costume from a 4-year-old Newton boy, whose love for McDonald’s inspired his ensemble.

But he’s not the only kiddo who opted to honor their favorite speedy food chain this Halloween. Two little Boston “DunKings,” may just take the cake for most adorable, locally inspired sibling costumes.

Boo-tiful babies

Boston Medical Center shared snaps of some miniature trick-or-treaters from the NICU.

“Happy Halloween from BMC’s tiniest patients! Little superheroes, mermaids, and Celtics champions are bringing smiles to families and staff in the NICU.”

Each costume was either handmade by our NICU nurses or donated by Project Sweet Peas.
