Oh no, lovebirds no more!
A Thousand Years hitmaker Christina Perri has called it quits with husband Paul Costabile after seven years of marriage. And honestly, we did not have this on our 2025 breakup bingo card.
Court documents first unearthed on Monday by TMZ confirm that Christina officially filed for divorce, marking the end of what once seemed like one of Hollywood’s most solid and low-key love stories. According to the legal papers, the date of separation was listed as Monday, too — meaning this decision is SUPER fresh. Like, barely-out-of-the-oven fresh. Ugh.

Christina cited that classic go-to reason for divorce: “irreconcilable differences.” Translation? Things would seem to have been rocky for a while, and she’s ready to move on.
The couple originally tied the knot back in December 2017, FYI. And they share two daughters together: 7-year-old Carmella and 3-year-old Pixie. To that end, Christina is asking for joint legal and physical custody of both.
Per that news outlet’s reporting on the legal docs, the crooner is also making it clear that she doesn’t want the court to award any spousal support to Paul, who’s known for his work as an entertainment reporter and TV host. The divorce docs also stated there’s a prenup in place, per TMZ. So, it seems like this split may be more about emotional untangling than financial fireworks.
Fans might recall how Christina and Paul’s romance began about four years before their marriage, with their connection quickly turning into something deep. These two have been through so much together in the years since, too.
And the timing here couldn’t be more dramatic, because the split comes just six weeks before what would’ve been their eighth wedding anniversary.
So sad.
