Varun Badola was seen in Saiyaara, which was a commercial success. today, he shared his thoughts on whether star power is still essential for a film’s success.
Actor Varun Badola, who was seen in Saiyaara, directed by Mohit Suri, has shared his thoughts on the ongoing debate about whether star power is still essential for a film’s success. Recently, during an interview, Varun said that he doesn’t agree with the idea that, because some content-driven films have done well, it means that audiences don’t need big stars anymore. He was recently seen in the film Saiyaara, which stars Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, and this film has broken all records and has become one of the highest-grossing films of the year.
What did Varun say in the interview?
During an interview with Nayandeep Rakshit on YouTube, Varun Badola said, ‘People are saying that this film has proven that we don’t need stars anymore. That’s not true. Abhi tum Ahaan Panday ko utha ke Jawan mein daalo, Jawan flop ho jayegi. Shah Rukh ko Saiyaara mein daal do, Saiyaara flop ho jayegi. Shah Rukh will suddenly become too big for the film, and Ahaan will not have the personality to run Jawan.’
What did the actor see on Instagram?
The actor further added, ‘I saw the euphoria on Instagram. Log jo chudiyaan tod rahe hai, chaatiyaan peet rahe hai. I think the promotions team went a little overboard there, where people are going to see the film, putting IV drips. Those people must have been told to give content in some way; thank god, people didn’t get their legs broken and went crawling to see the film.’
Saiyaara became a blockbuster and has collected over RS 200 crore in India and has amassed Rs 500 crore worldwide. The film was directed by Mohit Suri and produced by Yash Raj Films. Apart from Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, it also stars Alam Khan, Sid Makkar, Shaan Groverr, Rajesh Kumar, and Varun Badola.
