
ACF Investment Bank Plans European M&A Push
In another sign the international M&A market is hotting up, ACF Investment Bank is setting up an office in Germany and has hired industry veteran Bernd Wendeln to lead it. He will be Head of M&A, Europe, overseeing ACF’s European strategy and expanding its footprint across the continent. The opening of Munich office marks ACF’s fourth base, with offices already open in LA, London and New York. “Germany represents a cornerstone market for ACF’s next chapter of growth,” said Thomas Dey, CEO, at ACF. Wendeln previously served as Head of M&A for Verve Group and was a board member and COO at Germany’s Your Family Entertainment. He has also held senior M&A and corporate development roles at Tele München Group, which is immediately part of Mediawan, and ProSiebenSat.1 Media. In further news, ACF has promoted Milos Perovic to Director, following his work on deals such as See-Saw Film sale to Mediawan. “There has been a significant uptick in deals and buyers in Europe,” sais Dey. “With dedicated local teams immediately covering Europe, the UK and the USA, ACF is well placed to assist clients with buying, selling and fundraising opportunities.”
Austin Pendleton Boards ‘Shooting Sid’
EXCLUSIVE: Austin Pendleton (My Cousin Vinny), Megan Quinn (FBI: Most Wanted) and Leila Almas Rose (Gotham) have signed up for indie feature Shooting Sid, which is filming in New York. Written and directed by Jaime Zevallos (Cloak and Dagger), the psychological drama-thriller follows Ernie (Zevallos), an unemployed drifter who takes a mysterious caretaker job for Sid (Marc Cubelli), a deeply disturbed man convinced he can travel through time. They spiral into a fever dream of madness, paranoia, and blurred reality as they try attempt to build a time machine, with Sid’s enigmatic butler (Pendleton) watching on. Additional cast includes Sibo Yan (Once Upon a Time in NY), who is also producing, Gary Perez (When They See Us), Lukas Jacob (Dinner in America), Anissa Borrego (Elio), Onika Day (Inventing Anna), Shing Ka (Revenge of The Green Dragons), Kevin Matthew Reyes (Rest & Relaxation), Richard Bon Bon Centeno (Hacks) and Marc Chouen (American Horror Stories). The film is being produced by Marc Cubelli, CEO of Hudson Street Films, Sibo Yan and Zevallos.
Prime Video Teams With Hrithik Roshan For Thriller Series
Hindi cinema actor Hrithik Roshan is working up a thriller series for Prime Video. Storm (working title) marks his first move into the streaming space in India, and will have a cast including Parvathy Thiruvothu, Alaya F, Srishti Shrivastava, Rrama Sharma and Saba Azad. Roshan’s HRX Films is producing. Storm was created and directed by Ajitpal Singh, with Ajitpal Singh, Francois Lunel and Swati Das acting as the writers. Production is set to begin soon, with the series billed as “a high-stakes thriller drama set against the backdrop of Mumbai.” Gaurav Gandhi, Vice President, APAC & MENA, Prime Video, said: “Storm marks the beginning of a dynamic collaboration, paving the way for more exciting projects ahead.”
