The collaboration between Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough with French content creator Teo, or @kvtvrin63, has leveraged a substantial amount of hype for the new season. The hosting duo are learning some dance moves from the viral star as the video was recorded prior to the Season 34 premiere on 16 September 2023 on ABC and Disney Plus, with next-day episodes on Hulu. This is the third season that the two host together, underpinning Hough’s statement that “I couldn’t imagine doing this show without Alfonso.”

The promotional clip showed the hosts along with Teo. It seems that he impressed ABC so much with his dancing videos that they flew him in to “work on something amazing” for the new season. The backdrop has been pretty famous for social media trends and dancing, said Ribeiro and Hough while dancing and having a really good time through the choreography lesson. “We’re always leveling up and trying new things,” said Hough, complimenting the lighting, set design, and production crew.
Promos are meant to stir excitement; the absence of the cast list, however, generated a lot of frustration from viewers. One commented, “I love them…I really do…but can y’all give us what we really want with the announcements?” Echoing the general consensus from anxious fans, another exclaimed, “If I have to see another pointless video stating the exact same thing over again I’m gonna crash out. We know the show is coming back. We know the hosts. We’ve seen this same promo stuff like 6 times today.”
The comment section revealed the cast, and drama erupted, with some very concerned about professional Sasha Farber’s status, many comments calling to question whether he was returning or not. “Bringing back every pro…but no word on Sasha. Interesting… the silence speaks volumes,” said a fan, while another asked quite directly, “Sooooooo any chance we can get a hint if Sasha’s back?” This just goes on to prove that the professional lineup is still being heavily speculated through the network’s promotion.
Some international fans gave their praise for Teo, supported by French comments that translate as “So proud of you!!” and “This is incredible my guy!” This engagement shows how Dancing With The Stars continues to fuse traditional television with social media trends, even if it looks like this particular move is trying the patience of viewers.

Then a helpful fan provided the information: “Guys the cast will be announced September 3 on GMA,” which would almost certainly duct some of the irritation away-if true. With mixed feelings about the promotional content, Angry viewers’ comments are at least filled with anticipation for the season, such as “Always truly love to see BTS. Looks so fun! Last season was incredible, but we know S34 will have its own magic!
