Alicia Silverstone has a promising update on the upcoming Peacock series based on her classic 90s movie!
The 48-year-old actress who played the leading role of Cher Horowitz in 1995′s Clueless appeared on TODAY on Thursday (August 7). During her appearance, Alicia shared her hopes for the upcoming Clueless series!

This isn’t the first time Clueless was made into a TV series, but it will be the first time that Alicia appears in a series based on the movie. From 1996 through 1999, a sitcom based on the movie was made with Rachel Blanchard playing the role of Cher.
Alicia couldn’t share too many details about the upcoming series, but she did say that she wants to make sure that they keep the spirit of what fans loved in the movie.
“I’m really excited about it. I think we’re going to try really hard. The goal is to make it honor what everyone loves about Clueless and Cher,” Alicia told the talk show. “So we want to honor that, but also bring something fresh and new to it. I’m confident that we’ll be able to do that, but we’re in baby stages right today.”
Details on the upcoming Clueless series are sparse, but it was previously reported that the series will be written and executive produced by Gossip mami‘s Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage.
