Allan Mueses, known for his role on “Love & Hip Hop: Miami” and as the father of Amara La Negra’s twin daughters, is facing serious legal trouble. The 40-year-old has been charged with four counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct in Michigan after a case from more than a decade ago was reopened.
Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel confirmed Mueses was extradited from Miami and arraigned on July 28th in Kalamazoo’s 8th District Court. The charges stem from allegations dating back to March 2010, when Mueses was a foreign exchange student at Western Michigan University.
Prosecutors said the accuser, then 20 years old, met Mueses at a campus recreation center before going to his apartment, where the alleged assault occurred. In court last week, the woman testified that during the incident, Mueses told her to “think about this every night” as he assaulted her. She reported the incident to campus police at the time and completed a forensic medical exam, but no charges were filed.
The case was revived under Michigan’s Sexual Assault Kit Initiative, which reexamines older investigations. Mueses was arrested in Florida on July 11th after an out-of-state extradition warrant was issued on July 14th.
Attorney General Nessel praised the program, stating, “I remain grateful to our state’s devoted SAKI units and their efforts to bring about justice for victims of sexual assaults perpetrated years ago.”
Mueses, originally from the Dominican Republic, attended WMU between 2009 and 2013. His relationship with Amara La Negra was a storyline across multiple seasons of “Love & Hip Hop: Miami.” The two welcomed twin daughters in March 2022 and continue to co-parent despite no longer being together.
