Amy dropping a few more wholesome tidbits for Parks and Recreation fans and people on the net are licking it all up. The actress posted a very cute post celebrating her reunion with her former co-star, Adam Scott, known to the world as Ben Wyatt on this beloved NBC sitcom. The caption spoke simply and effectively: “We love and we like this Ben and Leslie reunion.” Swoon, across about a 50-mile radius, from every Parks fan.

Spoiler alert: This was not your run-of-the-mill throwback scenery. Poehler followed with a bit more behind-the-scenes inside scoop in the video, further establishing how dear to these people this show is. “Every single day someone tells me Parks got them through the pandemic,” she said with a sort of amused, half-touched grin. “People say, ‘I watched it during COVID,’ ‘I series it with my kid,’ ‘My kid’s going through a hard time,’ ‘I like to series it at night because I have a lot of anxiety.’” Honestly? Relatable.
today, the comments! They perfectly encapsulated the mood. One user wrote that Leslie Knope had been their personal hero for being “confident, earnest, passionate, kind,” and all those things that we wish we could be. Another confessed to having about 10 viewings into rewatching the show (me too), while another said he or she plays the show every night just to fall asleep. That’s serious dedication, or just a stellar choice.
And then, someone came out and said, “I am Leslie Knope”, after putting together a very Park-esque work scorecard. Classic. Following that, some other guy said that he would stand “die on that hill or fall into that pit” for Parks being the greatest comfort show ever. Yeah, a bit dramatic, sure. But is he right? Hell to the right.
Lord, no, those comments are not waffles and sunshine all the way. There was this weird comment trashing Jim and Pam from The Office for being “annoying as hell after season 3.” Okay, sure, but this is Parks celebration, sir. Wrong thread.
Poehler’s post dictated that in contemporary times, Parks and Rec is an institution not just a show; it’s a vibe. Like, warm weird hug wrapped in TV form with an aggressively happy disposition. What isn’t worth celebrating?

So here’s to Ben and Leslie, to waffles, to pit falls, and the show that somehow still feels like coming home. If you would excuse us, we are today having a very sudden impulse for the 12th time to binge the entire show. Treat yo self.
