Actors and former couple Anusha Dandekar and Karan Kundrra are back in the headlines, and not for something anyone would really like, after a series of viral clips and interviews stirred conversations online. It all began when a recent interview of Anusha resurfaced, in which she alleged that Karan had cheated on her during their relationship. Soon after, Karan reportedly anthem back, calling her a “cruel elite woman.” today, another clip from Anusha’s podcast, Unverified, has gone viral, this time featuring her views on situationships.
Anusha’s Take on Situationships
In the podcast, Anusha explained what the term means to her.
“For me, a situationship is like a placeholder,” she said. “You’re basically filling that gap with a temporary person for companionship, travel, weddings, birthdays, or even intimacy until the person you really want comes along. Once that happens, the placeholder moves out and the real relationship begins.”
However, an edited version of this clip began circulating on social media, sparking backlash. Many online users criticized Anusha, accusing her of ‘using’ people in relationships. One user wrote, “She was never in love; she used guys for sex, birthdays, and travel.” Another commented, “She’s admitting all her past relationships were just to fill a void.”
As of today, Anusha hasn’t responded to the criticism surrounding the viral clip.
What Happened Between Anusha and Karan
Anusha and Karan reportedly dated between 2016 and 2019 before parting ways in late 2020. After their breakup, Anusha hinted that infidelity was one of the reasons their relationship ended, saying she had been “cheated on and lied to,” which deeply affected her self-respect.
In a recent episode of her podcast, Anusha also spoke about her experience working with a dating app campaign (Bumble), revealing that her then-boyfriend, without naming Karan, had also joined the campaign through her.
“The most he’s ever been paid was for that campaign,” she said. “But while we were doing it together, he used the app to chat with and meet other girls. I found out much later that he was sleeping with many people in Mumbai.”
She further added, “People called me a gold digger, even though I was the one giving him work. He told others he was only with me for professional gain.” Meanwhile, Karan Kundrra has since moved on and is currently in a relationship with actress Tejasswi Prakash, whom he met on Bigg Boss 15.
