One Boston bank is soon going to have a brand-new set of cute, four-legged customers.
TD Bank has debuted a dog ATM — short for “Automated Treat Machine” — at its location at 535 Boylston St. in Copley Square. The ATM was unveiled on Oct. 4 and dispenses free treats for doggy visitors.
“We want to make our stores feel unmistakably TD – and our Automated Treat Machines connect us with our customers and bring the community closer to the store in a unique and memorable way,” said TD Bank Head of US Regional, Retail Distribution & Experiential Marketing Michael Snyder in an announcement last month.
The dog ATM looks like a traditional human ATM, but its screens play what the company described as “dog-centric content” and it has a paw print mat with a motion detector to dispense treats as a dog approaches.
The bank chain introduced its first dog ATM in April 2024 at a Philadelphia store. Last month, TD announced that it would be bringing them to eight more locations this year and another six next year.
The other locations debuting in October include stores in Southington, Connecticut; East Meadow, New York; Coral Gables and Sarasota, Florida; Cranford and Elmwood Park, New Jersey; and Fairfax, Virginia.
The dog ATM locations coming in 2026 have not yet been announced.
