On October 21, the highly anticipated horror-comedy film, which starred Ayushmann Khurrana, Rashmika Mandanna, and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, released in theatres. The film garnered huge praise and opened with a decent number. On the other hand, the film Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat, which starred Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa, also had its theatrical launch on Tuesday, October 21, and had a good start. Thamma made Rs 24 crore crore net on its first day of business, according to industry tracker Sacnilk. Footfalls decreased on day 2, and morning performances were only approximately 10% occupied, down from 16% on day 1. The movie’s two-day total came to Rs 42 crore after earning Rs 18 crore on Wednesday. Thamma was able to restrict its day 2 decline to about 25 percent in spite of the drop.
Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat saw a decline on day two after earning almost Rs 9 crore on Tuesday, the opening day. On the second day, it earned Rs 7.50 crore. As per Sacnilk, the entire amount collected to date is Rs 16.50 crore. If Thamma hadn’t taken up so much screen space, the movie would have received even more numbers.
After demonstrating an outstanding hold on its second day at the box office, Ek Deewana Ki Deewaniyat is on its way to becoming a banger.
