Producer Dinesh Vijan stated that, while he has not watched Lokah, he has heard it is extraordinary, and that Thamma is founded in mythology, which distinguishes it from the other films. Apart from Ayushmann and Rashmika, the cast includes Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Sanjay Dutt, Aparshakti Khurana, Aasif Khan, Sapthami Gowda, and others.
