Bill Hader is explaining why he skipped SNL50, the sketch comedy show’s fiftieth anniversary event that was incredibly star-studded.
In fact, only four past cast members ended up skipping the show, which took place in February.

While appearing on Late Night with Seth Meyers, he explained further.
Bill said, “Andy [Samberg] called me and was like, ‘Hey, so we’re doing this short about how, you know, everybody had anxiety…’ And when he told me that, I was like, ‘I don’t know if I want to do that.’ “He’s like, ‘Why?’ And I’m like, ‘Because I’m anxious. I don’t want to do it.’”

“You were never [anxious],” he noted to Seth Meyers about their time on the late night variety show. “You were so calm. You guys went out there, and I was, like, trembling, anxious… And something went wrong, and you went, ‘Whoa, something went wrong? Well, something went wrong.’ And I was like, ‘You can just do that?’”
He also added he recently had shingles, “from stress. I was like, ‘What causes this?’ and the guy was like ‘Anxiety! I know because you always talk about how you have anxiety. That’s probably why you had the shingles.’ “
