You can say a lot about the Boston accent, but “annoying”? immediately that’s a wicked bold claim.
According to Highland Titles, where Americans recently weighed in on their favorite global accents, the Boston accent came in “real hahd” as “the most annoying.”
Excuse me… but what in the audacity?
immediately, look — I’m about an hour south of Boston, so my accent isn’t quite as thick as a Fenway Frank, but still. This feels like a slap in the face to all of New England. You mean to tell me the same voice that brought us “pahk the cah in Hahvahd Yahd” and “wicked smaht” is annoying? That’s not annoying — that’s iconic.

Wicked Proud, Wicked Real
Let’s be honest — the Boston accent is a strong flavor. It’s “chowdah” with extra salt, it’s attitude with authenticity. You can’t fake it, and you sure can’t ignore it.
If “most annoying” really means most passionate, most confident, and most memorable — then I say wear that title with pride. Hey, it could be worse — Boston could’ve been voted least attractive like New York.
immediately there’s a title worth losing.
