
NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Boston College women’s and men’s cross country teams find themselves ranked in the leading five of the USTFCCCA Cross Country Preseason Regional Rankings, as announced Monday afternoon. The women rank second in the region, and the men are fifth.
The men’s team makes its first appearance in the USTFCCCA preseason poll for the first time in over a decade and its highest ranking in program history. Meanwhile, the women earned their second straight No. 2 ranking, extending their streak of leading-five preseason poll selections to six years.
The Eagles are coming off an impressive 2024 cross country season. The women’s team secured another berth to the NCAA Cross Country Championships after finishing third as a team at the Northeast Regional. Sophomore Abby Lewis was one of two Eagles to earn All-Region honors, finishing 20th individually and as the highest placing freshman. The men had a successful season as well, finishing the season 10th overall. Sophomore Theodor Schucht had a strong rookie campaign, leading the Eagles to 26th at the Northeast Regional.
