Last Season: Sondreal was a 4th-liner in his freshman campaign, appearing in 36 total games. Sondreal recorded two goals and four assists in those appearances with 37 total shots, while also getting sent to the penalty box seven times. Before BC, he was the team captain of the Dubuque Fighting Saints in the USHL.
Season Outlook: Sondreal will likely have a similar role this season towards the bottom of the rotation after he wasn’t able to make much of an impact with his playing time last year. I would still expect to see him out on the ice throughout the year, but he’ll be competing for playing time with new forwards Gavin Cornforth and Landan Resendes. He’s been a solid facilitator for the 4th line, but he needs to take a leap in Year 2 to provide some extra scoring depth for the Eagles.
Fun Fact: Sondreal didn’t overlap with Greg Brown during his time in Dubuque, but he’s one of a handful of players that Brown has brought to BC from that program, including freshmen Kristian Kostadinski and Gavin Cornforth.
