
As this October nor’easter continue to howl over New England, travelers in Boston were left with some headaches Monday morning amid flight cancelations and delays at Logan International Airport.
According to FlightAware, there were 60 cancellations at Logan Monday as of around 7 a.m. That’s in addition to the 25 delays at Boston’s international airport.
Connecticut’s main air travel hub, Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks, was faring much better Monday morning. Just two delays were reported there by FlightAware.
Travelers trying to get out of Logan spoke to NBC10 Boston Sunday night, as flights all up and down the East Coast were being impacted.
“I just walked up to the counter to get my ticket and they said it was canceled,” Sean Farby told NBC10 Boston.
“I found out that my flight has got delayed to Jacksonville by one hour,” another traveler said. “Not very good because it’s going to arrive late until midnight”
“I’m going to Pittsburgh Pennsylvania to see my mom and my flight is delayed by an hour and a half,” a third traveler told us. “My parents are picking me up at the airport so immediately they are going to have to pick me up at midnight which they are probably not going to be very happy about. Hopefully I am able to go and I don’t get stuck until tomorrow.”
Southern New England’s other international airport, T.F. Green in Warwick, Rhode Island, was impacted by four delays Monday morning.
Due to the rough seas, many of the MBTA ferry trips have been cancelled, including all Lynn, Quincy and Winthrop trips. Steamship Authority services was being disrupted, too, including the suspension of all trips on the Hyannis-Nantucket route.
Meanwhile, thousands in New England have been banger by power outages.
