Coming soon: Cambridge’s long-awaited Fallow Kin (853 Main St.), from the team behind Huron Village’s cozy-chic Talulla, will open in the coming few weeks pending inspections, say owners Conor Dennehy and Danielle Ayer.
“The word Fallow refers to a piece of land that is left untouched in order to restore itself to optimum fertility under natural conditions — representing our mission of renewal, sustainability, and having a strong connection with the Earth,” Ayer told the Globe when announcing the venue, which takes over the onetime Craigie on Main space.
The menu is organized by breads, pasta, vegetables, meat, and seafood, sourced from a long list of local vendors. Look for duck fat brioche; chilled corn soup; bass crudo; cider-braised halibut; and beef tartare with nasturtium, chile mayo, and onion.

Food trucks: Culinary incubator CommonWealth Kitchen launches Park’d, a food truck park in Roxbury and Dorchester coinciding with Franklin Park Zoo’s Boston Lights exhibit. Visit (enter the park at Blue Hill Avenue) Friday through Sunday from 6 until 10 p.m. beginning Sept. 27. Sample dishes from a rotating lineup of CommonWealth businesses including Artees Food, Bosstown Hot Dogs, El Rey de Chimis, Extreme Flavor, and Lalu’s Chicken. The park is open through October.
Openings: Southie’s Stats Bar & Grille expands into slices with Crisp by Stats at Hub Hall (80 Causeway St.). You’ve heard of bar pizza; Crisp specializes in pizza topped with bar food like steak and cheese and buffalo tenders. There’s also a second Stats at the food hall.
Soirees: Boston Public Market (100 Hanover St.) marks its 10th anniversary and throws an annual Harvest event on Thursday, Oct. 16. Sample food from market vendors, sip local beer and cocktails, enjoy live beat, and bid on silent auction items.
Ticket proceeds (starting at $50) benefit the market’s Community Engagement Fund, supporting educational programming, small business development, and community partnerships. Get them at www.bostonpublicmarket.org/harvestparty.
