The New York rapper anthem the pavement with incense and physical copies of her new project, “Am I the Drama?” spread out on a blanket that was spread across the concrete.
“$9.99!” she yelled, showing off her sidewalk setup and inventory.
She shared the moment on Instagram, hinting that her label is putting the pressure on this release.
“My label said I gotta get out in these streets and sell this album…LINK IN BIO,” she captioned the clip.
Cardi’s upcoming album arrives seven years after her blockbuster debut, “Invasion of Privacy.” That Grammy-winning effort birthed her breakout anthem “Bodak Yellow,” which has since gone diamond.
While much of “Am I the Drama?” remains under wraps, fans can expect previously released singles like 2020’s “WAP” and 2021’s “Up” to appear on the tracklist. Some critics have called it a cheat code, but her supporters are ready to revisit the hits, especially alongside new tracks “Imaginary Playerz” and “Outside.”
Am I the Drama? drops on September 19th.
