Carl Radke revealed his ex-fiancée, Lindsay Hubbard, has visited his Soft Bar cafe after its recent opening, and he shared a surprising update on their friendship. Meanwhile, fans are praising the sober bar’s reasonable prices.
When Carl and Lindsay were still engaged, Lindsay seemingly rejected his idea for a sober bar, suggesting she didn’t want that for her family. After their breakup, the Summer House exes feuded continually.
On Page Six Radio, Carl was asked about his business, which recently opened in Brooklyn.
“It’s been amazing to have the cast support,” he said. “You know, obviously we’ve all launched businesses or brands and have our podcasts or whatever it is, but everybody’s really rallied around it … It’s been cool to like have them come in and see it and really kind of take it in, and the feedback has been great from them too. I mean, I really appreciated them coming. I wasn’t sure how people would receive it.”
He was then asked if Lindsay had stopped by.
“She has,” said Carl, smiling. “She stopped by. It felt good … When she took it in, I think she was like, ‘Wow, it’s actually here.’ So she was there, which was really sweet of her to stop by. I was, you know, honored that she would take the time and come, given everything that’s … happened between us.”
“It seems to be on a better path [with us]. I mean, obviously we’ve gone our different directions, but, you know, there’s so many mutual connections and friends. There’s so much history. And, you know, I would find myself even laughing at stuff from the past with her at times,” he added. “Yeah, we’re taking the right step forward, I think, and just kind of going one day at a time.”
Will fans see his journey to open Soft Bar in the upcoming season?
“I hope so,” he answered. “I like to think that they will, but you just never know. There was a lot going on.”
Meanwhile, fans are praising Carl’s reasonable prices. Redditor r/sarahj300 shared a video of Soft Bar’s menu, which showed specialty coffees around $7 or $8.
“Oh wow, that’s very reasonable!” wrote one fan in the comments. “And they are actual mocktails with NA spirits and thoughtful mixers. Where I live bars throw orange juice and soda water in a flute then call it a “mimosa mocktail” and charge $12 for it.”
“I was surprised by those prices as well. I wish we had a spot like that where I live,” said another.
“Those coffee/espresso drink prices are SO budget-friendly – especially for nyc, like wow!” wrote a third. “Also it’s cool that he has loverboy [non-alcoholic] on the menu.”
“I’m not exclusively sober but enjoy having non alc options to avoid feeling crappy and some of these nootropic drinks are bomb!” said a fourth. “This cafe vibe is super cool. I see the vision today!”
