Of course, that pronouncement comes with the caveat of it being preseason Boston basketball. Nevertheless, the Celtics are set to kick off what should be a fascinating season when they take the court in Memphis for their preseason opener.
This game will be the first of just four preseason games for the Celtics, so the ramp-up period for the season opener (Oct. 22) will be shorter than many might believe.
