This new Demonslayer movie was Channing’s official voice acting debut, the real event that made headlines being the entire premiere experience with his daughter Evie. Walking with his daughter, an anime enthusiast in her own right, down the red carpet was noted by Tatum as a “dream coming true” in his heartfelt Instagram post.

In the image, Tatum looks handsome and dapper in a dark suit, while Evie graces the scene in an elegant attire, both illuminated with excitement against the multicolored backdrop of the film. From the caption, Tatum stated that Evie has been his “anime inspiration from the start,” which made this first voice role for him as Keizo very special indeed. He adds, “Having a project we both love in theaters today just feels unreal. My fanboy levels are off the charts!”
The post almost instantly attracted the attention of many fans and colleagues who replied with delight. Voice actor Aleks Le commented, “IT WAS GOOD SEEING YOU! Y’ALL WERE AMAZING IN THE MOVIE MY GOATS!” There was another comment: “He was SO GOOD AS KEIZO – loved everything bout it.”
Most comments were about the strong family resemblance between dad and daughter. “She looks just like you! ❤️😍” was one observation, while another said: “She is a mini Tatum, and a gorgeous young woman!” The resemblance in the photo was remarkable, as Evie seemed to have inherited quite a few features from her father as she strutted down in the gorgeous light-blue ruffled dress.
A wholesome father-daughter moment like this is a stark contrast to some of the red-carpet outings involving very young stars witnessed of late. One of such comments took a jab: “today that is a perfect example of age-appropriate dress code… Not like North West who is looking 25 n not 13.” The comment escalated into a short discussion on what should be deemed acceptable for young stars, some defending Evie’s choice and others expounding more on the child-star fashion topic.”
International fans naturally joined in, causing a translation of the Russian-language comments into English. “What a sunshine, such a sweet shorty,” tastes one of the comments from Russia. “More successes in creativity.” Another compatriot mused: “Is it just me or does she look a lot like her mom from back in the days?”
This post sheds quite a bit of light on Tatum for many fans; the secret he has kept for some time—that he really does love anime. “I didn’t know he series series anime,” came an amazed comment, which was answered several times, explaining how the actor became an anime fan. One user said, “He didn’t until his daughter got him into it,” followed by another: “He’s a millennial damn near all are anime fans.”
What was on every fan’s mind is that this was such a great family moment. “Amazing daddy daughter moment. Congrats bro!” commented fellow actor Pedro Ostrander. Another perfectly summed up the general sentiment: “The most beautiful Father Daughter moment. Evie is everything. Incredibly proud of you both.”
Demon Slayer’s premiere was beyond just another feather in Channing’s career cap. It was the memory he would cherish forever of sharing his work with the one who brought him one of practically the very first green lights in his entire acting career-his own daughter. If ever the need ever arose for proof exactly what mattered more to Channing than the glitz and glam of Hollywood, the beaming expression plastered on both of their faces as they walked the red carpet would be it.
