Chittorgarh Dome Collapse: A dome collapsed during the performance of Haryanvi dancer Sapna Choudhary at a government event in Rajasthan’s Chittorgarh. Thousands of people were sitting beneath it, while hundreds hung from the structure. According to reports, a major portion of the dome has broken. The incident occurred at 12 AM on Monday night during the National Dussehra Fair in Nimbahera, a town in the region. Officials stated that no one was wounded.
How the dome collapsed?
Officials said that when more people arrived and climbed on leading of the dome, it collapsed. According to SDM Vikas Pancholi, Monday was the eighth day of the fair, which was being organised by the Nimbahera Municipal Council. The audience for Sapna Choudhary’s show was greater than normal. Sapna’s concert halted after dome crash
Sapna Choudhary’s performance started at 11:45 p.m. During her performance at 12 AM, around fifteen minutes later, the left part of the front dome collapsed. Immediately, the program was terminated. Following a swift evacuation of Sapna Choudhary from the platform, the crowd was asked to go quietly. Following the event, SDM Pancholi announced that all night programs were cancelled.
No injuries reported
According to the SDM, there were no casualties because the crumbled part was still around three feet above the ground. During the fall, those who were hanging on the edges of the dome and sitting on leading of it moved away.
Repair works started immediately
The dome’s repairs got underway immediately at night, and organisers promised that all of the fair’s activities will resume on Tuesday. Despite the panic, the prompt action made sure that no one was hurt, and it is anticipated that fair activities would restart without any problems.
