Since its August 28, 2025, release, the Malayalam film Lokah: Chapter 1-Chandra, starring Kalyani Priyadarshan and Naslen, has been smashing box office records, particularly amid strong competition by Kantara Chapter 1.
Lokah Chapter 1 box office collection: The Malayalam film Lokah: Chapter 1, starring Kalyani Priyadarshan and Naslen, has been breaking box office records since its August 28 release. The movie is currently Kerala’s highest-grossing film ever, according to the most recent reports. Lokah has previously achieved the title of highest-grossing Malayalam movie in India and worldwide before this.
Lokah becomes highest-grossing female-led movie in South
By being the highest-grossing female-led movie from South India and currently the second-highest-grossing female-led film nationwide, Lokah has also accomplished an incredible milestone. It has made close to Rs 298 crore worldwide, of which Rs 178.50 crore has come from India alone. It is expected to become the first Malayalam film to reach the Rs 300 crore milestone.
Lokah beats Mohanlal’s Thudarum at Kerala box office
The superhero movie starring Kalyani Priyadarshan made Rs 1.80 crore in its sixth weekend, bringing its total earnings in Kerala alone to almost Rs 119 crore. This exceeds Thudarum, Mohanlal’s best blockbuster, which brought in Rs 118.6 crore. The total for all languages is about Rs 122 crore.
The long theatrical run of the Dominic Arun-directed and Dulquer Salmaan-produced movie has been a major element in its success. The digital version’s release date has not yet been disclosed by the creators.
About Lokah Chapter 1- Chandra
Lokah: Chapter 1 – Chandra is part of a projected five-part cinematic universe. Dominic Arun will once again helm the second chapter, which has previously been revealed to have Tovino Thomas in the starring role with a cameo from Dulquer.
Dulquer will play the protagonist in the third movie, Mammootty will be the main character in the fourth, and the fifth and final segment will bring all of the characters together for an epic finale.
Despite Kantara Chapter 1’s strong hold at the box office currently, the Priyadarshan movie seems to be unstoppable.
