Charlamagne Tha God is opening up about the missteps in his marriage and the choices that helped him turn things around.
The 47-year-old host of “The Breakfast Club” recently sat down with DJ Vlad for a raw conversation about love, loyalty, and lessons learned. In the interview, Charlamagne revealed that he had been unfaithful to his wife of 11 years, Jessica Gadsden, but says the last time he strayed was in 2016.

“Faithful Black men don’t cheat,” he said during the nearly two-hour conversation. “October of 2016 was the last time I ever played around.”
Charlamagne and Jessica go way back. They met in high school and have been together for more than two decades. Married since 2014, the couple shares four daughters. For Charlamagne, becoming a better husband meant doing the hard work and facing his own flaws.
“If you lay down every night with a woman and you say this is your best friend, I’m the type of person where I need all of my energy claimed,” he explained. “I’m willing to discount with whatever comes from being 100% completely honest—especially if I know which direction I’m taking my life. I want things to be clean. I want things to be pure. I want my energy right.”
Charlamagne’s message isn’t just about staying loyal but about spiritual clarity and emotional maturity. He’s choosing to prioritize transparency, even when it’s uncomfortable.
