Chart Battle Begins With Same Day Albums

The Atlanta rap scene is about to witness a chart battle like no other.

On September 19th, Young Thug and YFN Lucci are set to drop their new albums on the same day. Thug’s project, “UY SCUTI,” and Lucci’s “ALREADY LEGEND” mark the first full-length releases for both artists since overcoming their respective legal cases.

While their history of tension dates back to 2017 with a serious street beef, Thugger says he’s not holding any grudges.

“Ain’t no temperature with him, man,” he shared in a recent interview with Big Bank. “I pray that n***a get everything he deserve.” He continued, “I don’t want no harm. You’re a real man to me. But leave me alone, too. Don’t f**k with me neither because if it have to go a certain way, then we got to go a certain way.”

Thug was released last Halloween, while Lucci came home this January after serving four years. Lucci’s rollout has been more active, with four singles already out.

This clash of releases could either reignite old drama or showcase growth from both camps. Either way, all eyes will be on the numbers next Friday. Additionally, the pair will also be competing on the rap charts with Cardi B, who is slated to drop her sophomore album on the same day.
