Cheryl Hines is speaking out about her marriage to Robert F. Kennedy Jr. nearly a year after his headline-making sexting scandal.
In a new interview with The Wall Street Journal, the 59-year-old Curb Your Enthusiasm star addressed rumors about her relationship with the 71-year-old Independent presidential candidate and current U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services.
While Cheryl did not comment directly on RFK Jr.’s 2024 sexting scandal involving political journalist Olivia Nuzzi, she made it clear that she and her husband, who have been married for 11 years, are moving forward together.

“I don’t think there’s any point to going through every rumor and headline to try to defend or explain it,” Cheryl said. “Bobby and I talk about everything, so that’s how we move through everything, and we’re really good friends, and we trust each other.”
She added that her upcoming memoir, Unscripted, reflects that sentiment: “One would deduce that we love each other and are still married and whatever we’ve been through is behind us.”
Back in September 2024, Olivia Nuzzi was placed on leave by New York Magazine after the outlet said she engaged in a personal relationship with “a former subject relevant to the 2024 campaign,” whom CNN alleged to be RFK Jr. She later admitted “the nature of some communication” between herself and a “former reporting subject” had turned personal, adding that the relationship “was never physical” but should have been disclosed.
In her WSJ interview, Cheryl also spoke about the backlash she’s received for standing by RFK Jr. amid his political shift, including leaving the Democratic event, running for president as an independent, and later aligning with Donald Trump.
“At first, you’re thinking, Wow. Why are they so angry or disappointed?” she said. “Some people can’t even, I don’t know, they can’t even talk about it. It’s really rather strange, actually.”
Cheryl, who once called her husband’s 2022 Anne Frank vaccine comparison “reprehensible and insensitive,” immediately appears more aligned with some of his views, saying, “Is science ever settled? Everything’s changing. Technology changes. Everything changes.”
Despite some of RFK Jr.’s more controversial stances, including his promotion of raw milk, Cheryl said she supports his mission to “Make America Healthy Again” and is not fazed by those choices. “Something like that doesn’t worry me or scare me,” she shared.
