“With these new weight loss drugs, it feels like we’ve unleashed a genie in a bottle that’s granting everyone the exact same wish,” Chrissy shared. “And I’m not here to judge. I’ve done it. Most of my friends are on it.”
She went on to say that she decided to take a GLP-1 medication after she struggled to lose weight following her pregnancy loss.
“My body was completely stuck,” Chrissy explained. “I really let myself indulge when I was pregnant. So, when I had lost that baby at 20 weeks, I had probably gained an extra 40 pounds that I wasn’t comfortable with.”
While she didn’t specify when she started taking Ozempic, Chrissy said that she took it for a year with “no results.”
Then “all of a sudden, I was finally able to lose the weight that was so reminding me of the baby that I had lost,” she shared.
Before that, Chrissy said, “I was, existing in a body that didn’t feel like mine, with absolutely nothing to celebrate – just the constant reminder that this body that once carried life for 20 weeks, was today just a…sad reminder.”
Also in the interview, Chrissy admitted that she did experience some challenges while on Ozempic.
She said that “it was frustrating for me because I know that logically you need food to have energy.” Chrissy described eating on Ozempic “like force-feeding sometimes just so I could go about my day and go about my job. And that, for me, is almost torturous: not being hungry at all and consuming food.”
“I f–king hate that. I love being hungry. I love craving food. I love desiring food,” she explained. “I get so excited to make it, to try it, to taste every part of it … Until I got that right dosage, it took a while before I would even get feelings of hunger.”
Chrissy also admitted that she was originally hesitant to talk publicly about being on Ozmepic because “I sell cookbooks…I eat food that I want. and I’m not being truthful.”
“And then also that I could actually afford this,” she continued, sharing that she was on Ozempic when there was a shortage of it. “You really couldn’t f–king talk about it without looking like the biggest a–hole on the planet.”
This Grammy-winning entertainer recently admitted to trying Ozempic despite previously denying speculation.
