The Boston Crusaders captured the Founder’s Trophy on Aug. 9 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, winning their first-ever championship after more than 80 years of existence.
The Crusaders ended a thrilling summer DCI tour where it competed with the defending champion Bluecoats until the final moments on the last Saturday of the season.
The Boston Crusaders won the 2025 DCI World Championship with a score of 98.425, winning their first DCI title since being founded in the early 1940s. The Boston Crusaders first made the finals in 1999.
After the Boston Crusaders had the highest score following the DCI Prelims, the Bluecoats won the DCI Semifinals. In the DCI Finals, playing their program “Boom,” the Crusaders won the DCI World Championship.
The last time DCI had a first-time champion was in 2016 when Bluecoats won the title.
The 2025 DCI Summer Tour ended in Indiana saw champions crowned in All-Age, Open Class and World classes over six days.
