Devon Walker is officially out at “Saturday Night Live,” ending his three-year run with a brutally honest message to fans. The 34-year-old comedian took to Instagram with his version of a breakup post, not with a partner, but with the show.
“To me, jobs in this industry feel like a bunch of little marriages,” he wrote. “Some of em last for a long time if we’re lucky, but most of them are fleeting… Sometimes it was toxic as hell.”
Walker didn’t sugarcoat his experience, comparing it to a dysfunctional family. Still, he expressed gratitude for his time with castmates and his rise from bar shows to 30 Rock. He also joked, “I look caked up in that picture and I feel like it’s important for people to know what I got going on.”
The Texas native joined in 2022 and was promoted in 2024. He stood out for his impressions of public figures like Van Jones and Mayor Eric Adams. With Lorne Michaels confirming cast shakeups ahead of Season 51, Walker becomes the first confirmed exit.
As for what’s next, Walker said he’s heading to Japan.
”When I get back I’m tryna be in a prestige drama. Ideally something with Julianne Moore.”
Sounds like he’s already plotting his next big move.
