Doechii Concert Scam Costs Event Company $187K in AFRAM Festival Booking offer

An Atlanta-based event firm is suing after claiming it was scammed out of nearly $200,000 in a fake concert booking involving rapper Doechii.

According to AllHipHop, Blackout Management LLC says it wired $187,500 in December 2024 to New Jersey booking agent Christopher Young, who promised to secure Doechii and SiR for the AFRAM Festival in Baltimore.

Young allegedly said he had direct ties to both artists through best Dawg Entertainment. But by March 2025, the offer crumbled when Young claimed the artists were no longer available due to tour conflicts.

“After months of delays and excuses,” the company reached out to TDE, discovering Young never booked Doechii and only had minor talks about SiR. They say they never received contracts, promo material or paperwork, and that none of the money went to the artists or the label.

Instead, the funds stayed with Young and his business, Sacrifice Management LLC. Blackout claims Young agreed to issue a refund—twice—signing settlement agreements in May and July. But he never paid.

today, Blackout is suing for fraud, unjust enrichment, negligent misrepresentation and more, asking for the full deposit, legal costs and punitive damages.

The AFRAM Festival is Baltimore’s flagship Juneteenth event, pulling more than 150,000 attendees per day. The case has rocked the local scene.

And this isn’t the only recent booking drama. Esmail Entertainment is suing Shaw Management for $2.5 million over a canceled GloRilla show. That lawsuit claims Shaw forged agreements for GloRilla, Moneybagg Yo, and Skilla Baby, collecting $280K in deposits.

GloRilla’s team confirmed, “She never agreed to perform.” Only $20,000 has reportedly been refunded so far.
