Actor Donnie Wahlberg was seen filming in downtown Boston on Monday.
The Dorchester native stars in a new TV series set to premiere on CBS this fall titled “Boston Blue.”
On its website, CBS describes the show as “a universe expansion” of “Blue Bloods” in which Wahlberg reprises his role as NYPD officer Danny Reagan as he takes a job with the Boston Police Department.
“Boston Blue” will premiere Oct. 17 and will stream on Paramount+.
Passersby took pictures and video of Wahlberg on Boston Common on Monday.
James Borghesani, a spokesperson for the Suffolk district attorney’s office, said Tuesday that Gloria Reuben, the actress playing a district attorney in the show, and the showrunner, Brandon Sonnier, spent an entire day in the district attorney’s office in June.
Borghesani said the two shadowed Suffolk District Attorney Kevin R. Hayden, sitting in on some case discussions and executive staff meetings, and accompanying him to a few community events.
