A Canton police officer was involved in a car crash Sunday morning while responding to a call.
The cruiser left the roadway as the officer navigated a turn, then striking a utility pole, according to the Canton Police Department’s initial investigation. The vehicle sustained front-end damage and was towed away.
The accident occurred near 480 Neponset St. around 10:15 a.m.. No other vehicles were involved in the incident. The officer was taken to the hospital and discharged the same day.
A utility company has inspected the pole, and no outages have been reported relating to the crash.

The BPD reports that its officers responded to 240 incidents in its 24-hour report ending at 10 a.m. Sunday. Those include eight aggravated assaults, two residential burglaries, two thefts from vehicles, one stolen car and one instance of miscellaneous larceny.

– Ernest Beluce, 36 Irma St., Boston. Unlicensed operation of motor vehicle.
– Ysamar Pimental, 46 Waverly St., Roxbury. Unlicensed operation of motor vehicle.
– Richard Moriarty, 31 Avalon Ave., Quincy. Warrant arrest.
– Lake Fleming, 124 Felming St., Salem. Disorderly conduct.
– Mohammad Azzazi, 122 W Emerson St., Melrose. Operating motor vehicle with suspended license.
