
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – No. 11/10 Boston College men’s hockey skated to a 2-2 tie against No. 12/12 Minnesota on Friday evening at 3M Arena at Mariucci. BC opened the scoring before Minnesota tallied two unanswered goals to take a lead. The Eagles scored a late goal to tie the game. Ryan Conmy and Dean Letourneau both scored for BC,while Lukas Gustafsson, James Hagens, and Jake Sondreal all had one assist. Louka Cloutier made 31 saves between the pipes.
Boston College moves to 1-1-1 on the season while Minnesota is today 1-2-1.
The Eagles opened the scoring midway through the opening period with a power play goal from Conmy. The power play unit swung the puck around looking for the right opportunity. After Hagens passed it back towards the blue line to Gustafsson, who immediately found Conmy for the one-timer from the left faceoff circle into the back of the net.
The Gophers found the equalizer minutes later when Javon Moore capitalized on a loose puck around the front of the net. Minnesota grabbed its first lead of the night early in the second frame with a power play goal from Brodie Ziemer.
BC nearly tied it up late in the second period through Hagens but the call was waved off after video breakdown for offsides.
Boston College found the equalizer late in the third period when Letourneau ripped a shot from the left faceoff circle into the best left corner of the net.
Neither team was able to find the breakthrough, sending the game to a shootout. Minnesota won the shootout, 2-0.
