Erica Banks says the cost of body enhancement goes far beyond money.
The Texas rapper revealed that she fainted the day after undergoing her second Brazilian butt lift, calling it one of the hardest recoveries of her life.
Her mother cared for her during the month-long healing process and was present when she collapsed on the way to the bathroom. An alcohol pad was used to bring her back to consciousness, and afterward, she required extra support, including a wheelchair, crutches, and even a special car seat.
“The recovery was lit. All I kept thinking about was, by the fourth week, it was gonna be good,” Banks said during her interview on “Shirley’s Temple.”
“That sh*t’s the most pain I’ve ever experienced in my entire life…Giving birth might be a little worse, she added.
The “Buss It” rapper explained that her decision to have surgery came after long hours in the gym and strict dieting left her drained.
“It was too much. I was sweating my wig out every single day. I was tired as f**k. I was drained,” she admitted. “I couldn’t do it. I’m just gonna get on the table.” Her first Brazilian butt lift cost $20,000.
A year later, she decided to have another procedure, this time to tighten her stomach and make her butt slightly bigger. Despite the pain of recovery, Banks said she never regretted her choice.
“As a surgical girlie, it’s normal to me,” she explained. “If you want that stomach and that a**, you don’t care about this sh*t, I promise.”
Although she is happy with the results, Banks admitted that online criticism about her appearance still affects her.
“You know people be online saying that my legs don’t match [my butt],” she said. “I be like, for real, y’all? I get to looking in the mirror like, ‘Damn,’ you know?”
For Banks, the difficult recovery and outside opinions are part of the journey. She remains firm that the surgeries were her choice and the outcome was worth the sacrifice.
