Erika Jayne confessed that “ugly sides” of her personality have “come out” on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, and she denied she plays a “character.” The star also mysteriously called “BS” on certain “women” who don’t support other women’s “success.”
In 2020, Erika filed for divorce from Tom Girardi. Soon after, reports surfaced that he embezzled millions of dollars from clients. Four years later, a jury found him guilty. Erika has maintained that she had nothing to do with Tom’s misconduct, though many fans speculate the opposite.
On No BS Convos with Colette, Erika denied she plays a “character” on RHOBH.
“This isn’t a character. There are ugly sides of my personality that have come out,” she admitted.
Amid her upcoming feud with co-star Dorit Kemsley on RHOBH season 15, Erika cryptically called “BS” on certain “women” who don’t “allow other women” to have “success” and be “happy for them.”
“There is enough food at the table for all of us. We can all support each other honestly and openly. Just because one of us succeeds doesn’t mean you aren’t going to,” she continued. “Let’s be happy for one another when one of our friends or one of our acquaintances, somebody you don’t even know, a woman steps out and is successful. Just, like, be happy for her.”
The singer, who has gone through legal troubles, her marriage ending, and her estranged husband Tom Girardi being indicted and convicted for financial crimes, also addressed going through the worst period of her life.
“I’ve gone through the worst part of my life on television, and I’m putting my life back together, still am,” she said. “I would do things, like I would get a good job or I would have my Vegas residency, and I would see these people just tear it down and just try to … dig at you. It’s like, hold on, guys, I’m out here trying to rebuild my life one brick at a time, and we don’t need that.”
Erika said women cheering on women can be “rare.”
“If you succeed, I kind of feel like I succeed because I can movie you, and you’ve opened doors that make it easier for me to walk through,” she said. “And there’ve been people on my show and in my friend group that have not been the most kind during a rebuild or during a time when you’re literally putting something together, building a foundation of a new life.”
