
The FBI stopped a potential terrorist attack in Michigan, with authorities revealing they have already arrested “multiple suspects.”
“This morning the FBI thwarted a potential terrorist attack and arrested multiple subjects in Michigan who were allegedly plotting a violent attack over Halloween weekend,” FBI Director Kash Patel wrote via X on Friday, October 31.
He continued, “Thanks to the men and women of FBI and law enforcement everywhere standing guard 24/7 and crushing our mission to defend the homeland.”
It’s not currently clear how many people were arrested in connection to the alleged attack.

Four senior law enforcement officials familiar with the situation said the FBI in Detroit stopped a group of young individuals who were plotting some form of attack that possibly included some sort of Halloween reference, according to NBC News.
Those officials say the group has a connection to some form of foreign extremism, per the outlet. However, it’s not clear if they were related to ISIS, Al Qaeda or some other similar ideology. Additionally, officials said there is currently no threat to the public following the arrests.
Officials said that law enforcement was able to monitor the group in the greater Detroit area, ensuring that no actual attack happened. Some of the arrests took place in Dearborn, Michigan, and Inkster, Michigan, per the outlet.
Dearborn police also confirmed that the FBI carried out an operation there on the morning of October 31.
“The Dearborn Police Department has been made aware that the FBI conducted operations in the City of Dearborn earlier this morning,” police said in a statement, according to NBC News, insisting there was no threat to the public.

According to The Detroit News, Dearborn police were spotted outside two homes in the area, including a brick home in the 5900 block of Horger Street near Fordson High School. The other house that was visited by authorities is two miles northeast in the 7800 block of Middlepointe Street.
