BOSTON – The Boston University field hockey team dropped a 7-0 contest to No. 4 Harvard on Monday evening at New Balance Field.
Harvard opened the scoring towards the end of an evenly played first quarter before adding four more tallies before halftime, including goals 17 seconds apart. The Crimson tacked on two more goals in early stages of the second half.
For the vast majority of the latter half, BU had the better of the chances, including five of the game’s final six corners, but could not get a shot past Harvard netminder Linde Burger and the Crimson defense.
Sophomore Martha le Huray tallied two goals and two assists for the Crimson while junior Sage Piekarski put up two goals and an assist.
BU, which got a five-cut effort from junior Sophie Ortyl, moves to 5-6 while Harvard stays undefeated at 10-0.
