Football – New Boston Huron vs Grosse Ile – The News Herald
It was a Huron League football rivalry over on the island on Friday night with both New Boston Huron and Grosse Ile simply looking for improvements in Week 2 of the young season.
The two longtime local foes came in fresh off losses in their season openers last week. Huron was handed a 50-36 loss at Lake Fenton, while Grosse Ile fell hard by a final score of 48-7 at home vs Ida.
Both teams did show improvement from Week 1 but only one team could win. And after an “anyone’s game” type of second half, it was Huron collecting their first victory of the season with an 18-7 final score over the host Red Devils.
