Brian Kilmeade, co-host of Fox & Friends, is under fire after making shocking remarks about homelessness and mental illness during a recent broadcast. Instead of addressing the crisis with policy solutions or compassion, Kilmeade suggested “involuntary lethal injection” as an answer, then bluntly added, “Just kill them.”

The segment was meant to highlight concerns about rising homelessness in U.S. cities, but Kilmeade’s comments immediately shifted the conversation into dangerous territory. Many viewers were stunned that his co-hosts offered little pushback as he joked about killing homeless people and those suffering from mental illness.
Public reaction has been swift. Social media users slammed the comments as heartless and dehumanizing, arguing that rhetoric like this not only disrespects vulnerable populations but also encourages violence against them.
The controversy comes at a time when homelessness and mental health are front-and-center in political debates across the country. Cities are struggling with how to balance compassion, housing, and healthcare with public safety and order. For many critics, Kilmeade’s remarks represent the exact opposite of what’s needed—a dismissal of human dignity in favor of shock-worth television.
So far, Fox News has not issued a statement in response to the backlash. Whether the network chooses to address the growing outrage or remain silent remains to be seen.
