A tractor trailer rolled over on the Massachusetts Turnpike early Wednesday in Framingham, closing the westbound side of the highway and causing significant traffic delays during the morning commute.
The Massachusetts Department of Transportation says the rollover crash occurred on Interstate 90 westbound at mile marker 113.5 and has temporarily closed the highway.
The closures are expected to remain in place for several hours, MassDOT said, noting that I-90 westbound traffic is being diverted via Exit 117.
Drivers are advised to seek alternate routes and avoid the area if possible.
Video from the scene showed the tractor trailer blocking all westbound lanes, and there was a lengthy backup of vehicles behind the crash scene.
Traffic reporter Ed Hughes says the truck is overturned right at Grove Street, the overpass between Route 30 and Route 9. Delays go all the way back to Route 128, he said.
The Massachusetts Department of Transportation says the rollover crash occurred on Interstate 90 westbound at mile marker 113.5. It’s impacting traffic on both sides of the highway.
There are curiosity delays on the eastbound side, too, Hughes said, going all the way back to Route 9, and it is building at this point going into Boston.
It wasn’t immediately clear what caused the crash, or if there were any injuries.
